NEW NIGERIA PEOPLES PARTY -NNPP FLAGS OFF KWARA GUBERNATORIAL CAMPAIGN IN LADUBA, PROMISES RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURAL RENEWAL

The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has officially flagged off its gubernatorial campaign in Kwara State, with a renewed commitment to prioritise rural development, infrastructural transformation and improved access to essential social amenities and services across the state.

The historic flag-off ceremony took place in Laduba, Asa Local Government Area, the hometown of the party's Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hajia Zururat Romoke Zubair, and attracted the National Chairman of the party,l- Dr. Agbo Major, party leaders, supporters and residents from different communities.

Addressing party supporters and residents at the gathering, the Governorship Candidate Prince Adetoyese Omokanye declared that his campaign would be deliberately taken to rural communities, stressing that the grassroots remain the foundation and driving force of Kwara State.

He explained that his decision to begin the campaign in a rural community was a demonstration of his commitment to bringing governance closer to ordinary people, particularly those in communities that have long struggled with inadequate infrastructure and limited access to basic amenities.

The NNPP governorship candidate assured residents that, if elected, his administration would prioritise the rehabilitation and construction of deplorable roads across rural communities, including those in Asa Local Government Area.

According to him, this would be achieved through concerted efforts, prudent management of available resources and the mobilisation of relevant stakeholders towards addressing the infrastructural challenges confronting the people.

Prince Omokanye also promised to address the persistent challenge of inadequate potable water supply, assuring residents that his administration would work towards ensuring that communities have access to clean and safe drinking water.

On education, the candidate pledged to strengthen the education sector through improved facilities, better learning conditions, unfailing welfare packages for academic staff while also promising to reposition the healthcare system to make quality and affordable medical services accessible to residents, particularly those in rural communities.

He further outlined other development oriented plans aimed at improving the living conditions of the people, stimulating economic activities, empowering youths and women, and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every part of the state.

The candidate maintained that rural communities would not be treated as an afterthought in his development agenda, insisting that the progress of Kwara State must be measured by the quality of life of people particularly those in the rural settlements. He lamented the worsening security situation in Kwara State and promised to make security of lives and properties his topmost priority.

Following the official flag-off in Laduba, the campaign train proceeded to Afon and Alapa, also within Asa Local Government Area, where Prince Adetoyesr Omokanye, alongside his running mate, Hajia Zubair, and other members of the campaign team, engaged with various community stakeholders.

During the visits, the candidates held separate interactions with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth representatives and women groups, providing an opportunity for the party to present its vision and listen to the concerns, expectations and development priorities of the communities.

The engagements also provided a platform for community leaders to communicate some of the challenges confronting their respective areas, particularly in the areas of road infrastructure, water supply, education, access to funding medium scale businesses, healthcare and rural development.

The NNPP campaign team reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots participation and a development agenda that recognises the importance of every community/stakeholder in the state.

The choice of Laduba, Afon and Alapa as the opening destinations of the campaign underscores the party's intention to take its political message directly to the people at the grassroots rather than restricting its activities to major towns and urban centres.

With the official presentation of the party's flag and the commencement of grassroots engagements, the NNPP has formally set its gubernatorial campaign in motion, with Prince Adetoyesr Omokanye projecting a vision anchored on rural transformation, improved infrastructure, accessible social services and people-oriented governance.

For the NNPP, the message from Asa Local Government Area is clear: rural communities matter, grassroots development is a priority, and no part of Kwara State should be left behind.

The high point of the event was the formal presentation of the party's flag to its gubernatorial candidate, Prince Adetoyese Omokanye, by the National Chairman-Dr Agbo Major symbolising the official commencement of the party's campaign activities ahead of the forthcoming governorship election. Dr. Agbo Major described the candidate as one of NNPP's greatest asset and assured Kwarans of his competence in taking Kwara to greater heights.
