The Member representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. (Princess) Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, has celebrated retiring ministers of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Remo, commending their years of dedicated service, sacrifice and contributions to spiritual growth and community development.
Ayoola-Elegbeji made this known on Sunday, November 1, 2026, during the Valedictory and Send-Forth Service organised by the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Remo, at the Methodist Church Cathedral in Remo.
The federal lawmaker described the occasion as a deeply moving, soul-lifting and spiritually fulfilling experience, noting that the ceremony provided an opportunity to honour distinguished servants of God who had devoted their lives to the service of the church and humanity.
As a faithful member and daughter of the Methodist Church, she said her participation in the service was a moment of reflection, thanksgiving and renewed commitment to God and humanity.
The lawmaker, in her remarks, acknowledged the significant contributions of the Methodist Church to the moral, spiritual and educational development of Remo land and Nigeria at large.
She particularly praised the retiring ministers for their uncommon dedication, humility, sacrifice and fear of God, noting that their years of service had positively influenced the lives of individuals, families and communities within the Diocese.
According to her, the retiring clerics had not only nurtured the spiritual lives of their congregations but had also contributed to building the church, strengthening communal values and promoting peace and development across their areas of service.
She emphasised that retirement should not be regarded as the end of their service to God, but rather as a transition into another phase of Christian service, where their wealth of experience, wisdom and spiritual contributions would continue to benefit the church and society.
Ayoola-Elegbeji further declared that the footprints of the retiring ministers in the Diocese of Remo would remain indelible, describing their commitment to the Christian faith as worthy of recognition and emulation.
She prayed that Almighty God would reward the retiring fathers and mothers in the Lord with sound health, long life, peace of mind and greater grace as they begin a new chapter of their lives.
The federal lawmaker also commended the Archbishop and the entire leadership of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Remo, for sustaining the enduring legacy of Methodism and organising what she described as a befitting ceremony to honour the retiring ministers.
Reaffirming her commitment to religious and community development, Ayoola-Elegbeji assured the church of her continued support, stressing that she would remain committed to identifying with religious institutions and promoting values that strengthen peaceful coexistence.
She stated that, as the representative of Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency, she would continue to support the work of God while encouraging religious harmony, moral discipline and peaceful relationships among residents, irrespective of their religious affiliations.
She also offered prayers for the continued growth and prosperity of the Methodist Church Nigeria and the peace, unity and development of Remo land.
The valedictory service brought together church leaders, worshippers and well-wishers to celebrate the retiring ministers and acknowledge their contributions to the growth of the Methodist Church in the Diocese of Remo.
The event further underscored the importance of recognising religious leaders whose years of commitment, spiritual guidance and community service have helped shape the moral and social fabric of society.
Ayoola-Elegbeji concluded by giving glory to God for the successful service and the opportunity to celebrate the lives and contributions of the retiring servants of God.
