The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has applauded the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, for what it described as an outstanding performance in grassroots governance, conferring on her the titles of "Mrs. Project" and "Superwoman" following an extensive inspection of developmental projects across the council area.
The commendation came during the committee's official oversight visit to Ojokoro LCDA on Wednesday, where lawmakers undertook a comprehensive tour of completed and ongoing projects before reviewing the administration's performance through a detailed multimedia presentation of its achievements within just 11 months in office.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Ganiyu Sanni Okanlawon, assessed projects spanning infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth development, social welfare and economic empowerment.
Infrastructure Drives Grassroots Transformation
One of the major highlights of the inspection was the administration's ambitious infrastructure programme, which has delivered 12 strategic road projects, seven major drainage projects and 36 solar-powered street lights across different communities within Ojokoro LCDA.
The lawmakers noted that the newly constructed and rehabilitated roads have significantly improved accessibility and eased movement for residents and businesses, while the drainage projects are helping to tackle persistent flooding challenges in several parts of the council area.
They also praised the installation of solar-powered street lights, describing the initiative as a major boost to public safety, security and economic activities by improving visibility and mobility at night.
₦100 Million Empowerment Initiative Impresses Lawmakers
The Assembly Committee also commended the council's phased ₦100 million palliative and empowerment programme, which has provided financial support and economic opportunities for artisans, youths, widows, elderly citizens and other vulnerable residents.
According to the lawmakers, the intervention demonstrates the administration's commitment to cushioning the effects of economic hardship while promoting self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
Agriculture, Healthcare Receive Attention
Another initiative that attracted commendation was the acquisition and preparation of 100 hectares of farmland in Iboro, designed to strengthen food security, encourage agricultural production and create employment opportunities.
In the health sector, the committee applauded the council's collaboration with Lions Clubs International to provide free medical services to 1,000 residents, describing the outreach as a significant contribution to improving access to quality healthcare at the grassroots.
The enrolment of 1,000 families into the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme was equally recognised as a people-centred intervention capable of expanding healthcare access for low-income households.
Youth Development and Social Inclusion
Lawmakers further praised the administration's investment in free ICT and vocational training programmes, which are equipping young people with practical digital and technical skills needed for employment, entrepreneurship and economic independence.
They also acknowledged various empowerment initiatives targeting widows, senior citizens and other vulnerable groups as evidence of an inclusive governance approach.
Special commendation was reserved for the innovative "One Day Chairman" and "One Day Leader of the House" programmes, which allow selected residents to experience leadership at the local government level while receiving cash gifts.
The committee described the initiative as a creative platform for nurturing leadership, encouraging civic participation and strengthening the bond between government and the people.

Speaking after the inspection, members of the committee expressed satisfaction with the scale and quality of projects executed within a relatively short period, praising Hon.
