LAND GRAB OR SMEAR CAMPAIGN? AJIRAN PRINCE HITS BACK AT SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER WITH ₦500 MILLION LIBEL SUIT

LAGOS, NIGERIA — The legal battle lines have been drawn in the heart of the Ojomu Kingdom as Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi, a prominent businessman and royal family member popularly known as "Hammed Ajiran," has issued a scathing cease-and-desist notice to social media influencer Princess Bola Olofin. The notice, served through the law firm of A.O. Ajulo & Partners, demands a staggering ₦500 million in damages for what it describes as a "deliberate campaign of falsehood and character assassination."

The Root of the Conflict

At the center of the dispute is Hammed Ajiran’s role as the Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Ojomu Royal Family in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area. According to his legal counsel, Akanbi has long been a "champion of accountability and transparency" regarding the sale of community lands. His lawyers argue that this principled stance has made him a target for powerful interests who benefit from the "indiscriminate dissipation" of the community's resources.

The letter alleges that these opponents have orchestrated a smear campaign, recruiting bloggers and influencers to link Akanbi to heinous crimes, including the murders of Prince Ademola and Sheriff Salami in 2023 and 2024.

The "Wanted" Controversy

The friction escalated on February 19, 2026, when Princess Bola Olofin allegedly shared a "wanted" declaration attributed to the Lagos State Police Command on her Facebook page, which reaches over 71,000 followers. Akanbi’s legal team asserts that this declaration was "irregular and unlawful," issued without a court warrant or prior invitation to their client.

Recent developments at the Magistrate Court in Ogba have added fuel to the fire. On March 25, 2026, Olofin reportedly posted a "72-hour ultimatum" from a group calling itself the "Concern Youth Movement of Ajiran," which accused a local magistrate of being induced to set aside the order against Akanbi. The post further alleged that Akanbi used "ill-gotten wealth" to influence top police officers and judiciary members.

The Legal Ultimatum

A.O. Ajulo & Partners have dismissed these online narratives as "malicious falsehoods" designed to expose their client to public hatred and ridicule. They contend that the persistent posts have not only damaged Akanbi’s reputation but have also led to the "destruction of his landed properties."

The cease-and-desist notice gives Princess Bola Olofin 48 hours to:

 * Immediately stop disseminating any defamatory material regarding Alhaji Akanbi.

 * Delete all defamatory posts and videos from her Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube platforms.

 * Publish a clear, unequivocal public retraction and apology.

 * Provide a written undertaking to refrain from further defamatory publications.

Failure to comply, the firm warns, will result in a lawsuit claiming ₦500,000,000.00 in damages and a perpetual injunction to silence the influencer’s platforms regarding their client.

As the 48-hour deadline looms, the community of Ajiran remains on edge, watching as this high-stakes clash between traditional authority and digital influence moves from social media feeds to the courtroom.
