In the last one week or thereabouts, I have been inundated and in fact, overwhelmed by messages of congratulations, prayers, best wishes and joyful messages from the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye town, His Royal Highness Oba Abdulrazaq Adenuga, Obas, our various Baales, Quarter Otunbas, religious and spiritual leaders, market leaders, leaders and members of the political class, my associates, the academia, my personal friends, aides, followers, club mates, and countless well-wishers, home and abroad.
The outpouring of calls, personal messages via SMS, my Whatsapp page, group platforms on Whatsapp and other medium has been because of my son's academic attainment having made a First Class Honors in Electro-Mechanical Engineering at Coventry University, UK. It's an uncommon feat. It can only be by the grace of Allah.
As if that was not enough an enviable academic achievement coming to the Adekoya dynasty and Ago-Iwoye community, I, Aremo Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya, his father also bagged a Masters Degree certificate in Elections and Party Politics from the prestigious University of Benin as facilitated by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abuja. To Allah be the glory for the wonders He has blessed my entire family and our community with.
To crown the wondrous and amazing pursuits, our son, Prince Sultan-Othman Tobiloba Adekoya has been invited by the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in collaboration with the authorities of the Coventry University to a dinner where his parents are to be in his company to celebrate his academic success which has been described as an ambassadorial feat that further places Nigeria and Nigerians high in world ratings.
Flowing from the joyous realization that we are loved and appreciated by our kinsmen and townspeople, I; on behalf of my dear son, who has made Nigeria, Ogun State, Ago-Iwoye City, our family and himself, the entire Adekoya household proud; wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone for their show of love towards us on the feat so far recorded.
I wish to use this opportunity to express my commitment to continue to devote my resources, as appropriate and available, towards the educational pursuits of our youths who desire to go beyond the secondary school level. We will not rest on our oars until Ago-Iwoye City takes its pride of place among the towns and cities in Ogun state and Nigeria as a whole.
Once again, I wish to say a huge thank you for all your congratulatory messages and words of encouragement.
Ire gbogbo àwon omo wa á s'ojú wa o, Amin
Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya
